My name is Gina Gould and I love art, drawing and animals, so one day I thought – Why not combine the two?…and that was the start of pet portraits Paws to Pawtraits.

I create beautiful life-like pencil portrait artwork of your beloved pets and other animals. Working from photos as a reference, I take great pride in being given the special task of building a unique art piece of your family member (as we all know pets are part of the family!) for you to treasure. I am based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

What do I need to get a pet portrait?

You will need to send me at least one clear front-facing photo(or jpg scan) of your pet – a photo taken usng a mobile-phone is usually good enough. 2 or 3 photos would preferable, but I’m happy to work with just one. Also please let me know your pet’s name and perhaps a description of him/her – it helps to have a feeling of what they are like when drawing them. You can send me these details by email, post or WhatsApp. Please use the contact form for more details and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

How long do the drawings take?

Each pet portrait takes between 2-4 days, depending on the pet and its characteristics.

What materials are used?

I currently use a selection of Faber-Castell Polychromos, Derwent Coloursoft pencils and Caran D’Ache Luminance colour pencils on Seawhite of Brighton Bristol board. These are considered to be the best quality and most effective coloured pencils for such art work.

How will I get my pet portrait?

I post all pet portraits in a special protective wrapping tube, using Royal Mail 1st class signed-for recorded delivery or alternatively an insured reputable courier company. This ensures you get your artwork on-time and in pristine condition.

Where are you based?

I am based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
